For many years, I've been a fan of JessEm lift plates and when it came time to rebuild my main work bench, I decided to go all out. Mast-R-Lift II, Pow-R-Tek SR, Dual Intake Dust box. Wasn't cheap, but then again, I expect nothing but the best quality from JessEm so you get exactly what you pay for! Absolutely love the setup and now that it's incorporated into my main workbench top, I was able to do away with a separate router table that always seemed to be in the way! Can't say enough abou…t the quality and craftsmanship of JessEm products.
The first unit rocked when I put it in the Jessem Table. I couldn’t believe it made it through a QC-check. It wasn’t visible, but the top plate was warped. Called Jessem and sent them a video of it rocking, they said return it To the store. New one is perfect. Highly recommend this lift and the company. Their tech-help-line is excellent. Good company, good honest people, excellent products — you can’t go wrong.
Not a big fan of Canada right now, but heck this lift is precision on steroids. Super accurate, locks in place without messing up measurements, smooth and precise. Worth every penny
This JessEm is replacing a Kreg router plate in my router table. I went with this brand as it was an exact fit for my table based on published measurements. This way I didn't have to remake my table top. The JessEm did fit perfectly in my existing hole in my table.I really wanted to give this a 5 star review but can't due to some issues. The materials are top notch and the performance when done is acceptable. Here are the issues:1. The included main hex key had a sharp plastic burr on it th…at punctured my finger when I first pulled it out of the new box. It was easy to file off, but not a good first impression of quality control. Besides , my finger didn't appreciate the hole added to it.2. This same key would not fit into the "squeeze adjuster" that holds the router in place. Instead I had to use my own hex key to fit this key during router installation.3. This brings me to the biggest issue. I went to mount a brand new Bosch 1617 router to this unit (it is one of the approved routers in the instruction book) and using the specified mounting holes in the lift, it didn't fit. The outside diameter of the router was slightly larger than the mounting holes would allow. Try as I might, it wouldn't mount in the JessEm. I ended up using alternate mounting holes than the ones specified, but that put the collet off center in the router table and that wasn't acceptable. After about 2 hours messing with this, I decided to wait until the next day to deal with it again. The next day my son and I loosened the lock nut in the clamping system by removing a set screw in the "squeeze adjuster" and were able to get the mount to open up slightly more than the system usually allowed. This allowed us to get the router to finally fit. This mounting system would be better if it was designed like a drill chuck, allowing for variances in tolerances. It sure would have saved me a lot of time in dealing with all of this. After mounting the system, I will say that it performs well and meets my performance expectations other than being a pain in the butt initially. I think the initial frustration of this will wear off, but just be aware of what you may face if you buy one.
Great materials used and structured really nice and spacious to manage maintenance if needed it.
I purchased the Jessem to replace my "Incra / Woodpeckers" lift which was also well made. The difference is that the Jessem has a crank to adjust the height of the router where as the Incra has a rod to release and raise / lower the router. The crank style is well worth buying because it moves your router to a spot on location every time. Also, fine tuning is super easy.Installation is very simple and takes only a few minutes. The price for the 2 units is about the same so I hated spending the m…oney twice!!!! But my pain in the wallet was justified with how easy the Jessem is to use.. Now I have a "Incra" for sale.
Why I took so long for buy this, I was using the simple jessem plate and decided to upgrade for this one I regret I didn’t earlier this lift is awesome.
this lift is the second one i ordered for another router table i orderd for works the way it ment to
If you want quality expect to pay a bit more. This lift is really nice!
Very smooth operation installed easily.
